70th Republic Day of India celebrations in Zagreb, Croatia
On the occasion of 70th Republic Day of India, the National Flag was unfurled by the Ambassador Mr. Arindam Bagchi at the Chancery premises amidst a gathering of Indian nationals and Friends of India.
2. Excerpts of Hon’ble President’s address to the nation on the eve of Republic Day was read out by the Ambassador. Nearly 60 members of the Indian community including children, Persons of Indian Origin and Friends of India participated in the ceremony.
3. Subsequently, Ambassador interacted with members of Indian community and gave a broad overview of various functions scheduled to be held later in the 2019, including events that would be held to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
4. Earlier, on 25 January 2019, an official Reception was hosted by the Ambassador. Over 300 people attended the event including Deputy Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Mr. Zeljko Reiner, Former President of Croatia, Mr. Stjepan Mesic, members of the Diplomatic Corps, Senior Officers from the Department of Foreign Affairs and other Ministries and prominent businessmen and members of the Indian community.
