The event was attended by distinguished guests from Croatia, members of the Diplomatic Corps and Friends of India. In his address, Mr. Chander Mohan, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. retraced & recounted the steps of the Mahatma, his life journey and his valuable contribution to India's struggle for Independence, following the path of Truth & Non-Violence. Floral tributes were respectfully paid by Chargé d'Affaires, the Diplomatic Corps, Embassy officials & other guests at the function. Renowned Indology, Prof. Mislav Ježić from the University of Zagreb also spoke on the occasion on the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and the relevance of Gandhian way of thinking in today's world order. The Member of the Croatian Parliament & President of the India-Croatia Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, Mr. Veljko Kajtazi, also gave his views on the importance of further cooperation between Croatia and India, not only in economic and political matters but also in promoting the values advocated by Mahatma Gandhi. Together, through dialogue and cooperation, adding that we can continue to work towards achieving peace, non-violence and solidarity in our societies and beyond, noted MP Kajtazi.
