Central celebration of the International Day of Yoga was held in the green surroundings of Bundek Lake Park in Zagreb, under the global theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing” on Sunday, 14 June 2026.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenkovic on the sidelines of AI Impact Summit 2026 on the 18th February 2026. The two leaders exchanged views on ways to further strengthen India-Croatia relations and advance cooperation in new areas of mutual interest including AI, information and communication technologies, innovation and clean energy, among others. Both leaders agreed to work for early implementation of India-EU FTA.

77th Republic Day of India was celebrated by Indians & Friends of India at the Chancery premises on 26 Jan. 2026. The National flag was unfurled by the Ambassador of India to Croatia, Mr. Arun Goel, followed by singing the National Anthem and reading the Hon’ble President of India’s address to the Nation.

Hon’ble Minister of Economy Mr. Ante SuSnjar met with Arun Goel, Ambassador of India to Croatia. The discussion highlighted the importance of further strengthening bilateral relations, with a focus on enhancing economic cooperation, trade relations, and exploring new opportunities for investment and collaboration between India and Croatia.

The Embassy of India in Croatia hosted a Reception in Zagreb to celebrate the 79th Independence Day of India. The event was attended by nearly 200 distinguished guests. The Embassy was honoured to welcome H.E. Mr. David Vlajcic, Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, as the Chief Guest.

The two Prime Ministers welcomed the signing of: (i) MoU on Agricultural Cooperation; (ii) Programme of Cooperation in Science and Technology; (iii) Cultural Exchange Programme (CEP); and (iv) MoU to establish a Hindi Chair at the University of Zagreb.

During the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi official visit to Croatia on 18 June 2025, External Affairs Minister Dr. Jaishankar also had discussions with his counterpart, Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Mr. Gordan Radman.
